Starlink V3 Satellites: Introducing Gigabit Internet
The third generation of Starlink satellites (V3) is larger than its predecessors, driven by enhanced capabilities. Each satellite weighs approximately 2 tons and can only be launched via Starship.
For the first time, Starlink’s third generation is capable of delivering gigabit internet, with a bandwidth of 1 terabit per second—up to 20 times the capacity of previous generations. It is anticipated that the first operational batch of these satellites will be launched by the end of this year.
Starlink aims to deploy 30,000 V3 satellites into orbit, a move that could significantly enhance global network capacity, reduce plan costs, and provide substantially faster internet speeds.
